The Dragon War

August 21, 2019

The Dragon War began when Paetion, dragon god of fire and destruction, defied Physera and rebelled against order. He convinced the titan, Kannus to attack Lily’anthes, the world tree, weakening her power and nearly killing the lesser god. Enraged, Physera sent Iriaphos, the dragon god of justice to avenge Lily’anthes. She slew the titan Kannus and bound Paetion inside of an ever-burning volcano, imprisoning them for all time. As a reminder of the cost of rebellion, Iriaphos left the corpse of Kannus where it lay, and to this day the titan’s great corpse can be seen in the mountains which bear his name.

Daimon and the other gods of chaos struck back, and fought against the gods of order. However, they were eventually defeated. Many lesser gods were slain on both sides. At the end, Physera and the gods of order banished the gods of chaos from Lumios.

When the war had ended, Physera wept at the loss of so many gods, both of chaos and order, and proclaimed that no god may ever again kill another god. This became known as the unbreakable law. So strong was the will of Physera in its creation that lesser gods were forced to obey.

The strength exerted in The Dragon War, and the subsequent creation of the final law, left Physera in a weakened state. They withdrew from the world, and left Iriaphos as a steward to watch and rule over the world. To guard the realm of chaos, Physera left Lumenas, a lone warden to watch over and prevent the return of Daimon and the gods of chaos.
