• Background - Louis was born of parents who had a clinic on a remote island.

While he lost his mother when he was young because of an illness,

he grew up on the island full of nature with older sister Karen and their quiet but kind father.

His father often returned home late from work,

though he would read different books to Louis if he couldn’t fall asleep.

He loved these moments with his father.

Following in their father’s footsteps, Louis and Karen aspired “to become a doctor and save peoples lives like their father.”

Their father fell ill when Louis was 10 and Karen was 14.Despite their desperate care, he passed away and they were taken in by a relative who lived far away.

Following their dream to “become a doctor”, they go to a university adjoint with a military research center with a scholarship.

At this university, Karen meets Aurora and Louis meets Cruz.                  

Karen received excellent grades and graduated the university and the medical school at exceptional speed.

She was busy with both clinical and fundamental research.

Louis also studied very hard like his sister.

After surviving through the Great Collapse, they stayed with a community around the military research facility.

They started their lives: Karen as a revenant researcher, Louis as a research facility student.

Although civilization as we knew it was no more

and unknown horrors were witnessed more frequently,

the people continued to survive and maintain a sliver of hope.

Until Cruz went into frenzy and became the Queen.

Louis lost his life during this frenzy and he has awakened as a revenant after time.

The world was turned into a prison surrounded by Red Mist  

and the revenants suffering from the thirst.

Louis begins his journey with Enduring Crimson in hand,

burdened with the responsibility for the ruined world and resolve to save this world someday.

Mia

• Name - Mia Karnstein
• Age at death - 18 years old
• Height - 151cm
• Likes - Tea
• Doesn’t like - Instruments which break when she plays for some strange reason.
• Background - Before the Great Collapse, Mia grew up in a wealthy family. Her father was a diplomat and her mother was a music teacher.

With tender affection of her parents,

Mia becomes an active girl, good at sports.

When Mia was 10, her mother told her that she would have a little brother.

She stroked her mother’s stomach as it grew bigger and bigger every day,

 looking forward to meeting her little brother.

She remembers clearly the angelic sleeping face of her brother Nicola

when he was born.

They had small fights, but they were so close that even the neighbors talked about.  

Their parents watched them lovingly as Nicola followed Mia everywhere.

As their busy father was often away from home,

any family time was very import for them.

Tea parties with sweets brought by their father as a souvenir

were especially special for them.

Mia poured tea and Nicola sang as their mother played piano.

They had no doubt that this happiness would continue.

However, a year before the Great Collapse, their parents died in an accident.

Mia never shed a single tear before anyone as not to worry little Nicola.

Then they both lost their lives in the Great Collapse.

When a staff of the military research facility, which later became the provisional government,

found their corpses, Mia held Nicola as if she was protecting him.

Time has passed and Mia has awakened as a revenant and met Nicola again.

“I will protect Nicola.”

She ventured forth armed with her gun and strong determination.
