We had fun meeting players recently at PAX West. While there, we showed off our first hands-on demo of Bless Unleashed! We’ve noticed there’s some confusion surrounding the two titles in the Bless universe, Bless Unleashed and Bless Online, and we at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America want to do our best to try and clarify the differences between the two titles.
Q. What does the announcement of Bless Unleashed mean for Bless Online?
A. There will not be any changes for Bless Online. Neowiz Bless Studios has not announced any plans or changes in operations for Bless Online. Bless Unleashed has separate development and publishing teams, from Bless Online.
Q. Who is developing the different Bless games?
A. Neowiz Bless Studio develops Bless Online. Bless Unleashed is being developed by Round 8 Studio.
Q. Who is publishing the different Bless games?
A. Bless Online is self-published by Neowiz on PC via Steam. Bless Unleashed is being published by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment of America on Xbox One.
Q. I just paid $30 for Bless Online and felt disappointed in it. Why should I turn around and buy Bless Unleashed?
A. Fortunately, Bless Unleashed will be entirely free-to-play on Xbox One, so you won’t have to buy anything to play. Since Bless Unleashed was built by a different team with different combat mechanics, skill progression and more, we hope that you’ll give it a try!
Q. What engines are used to build the games?
A. Bless Unleashed is built using Unreal Engine 4 and supports 4K UHD displays. Bless Online is built in Unreal Engine 3.
Q. What kind of combat systems do the two games use?
A. Bless Unleashed makes use of a deeply rewarding combo-driven combat system designed with the needs of the console player in mind. Bless Online uses a standard MMORPG hot bar approach to combat with a built-in combo-based system.
