Karl is a Canadian-based producer and cinematographer dedicated to promoting underrepresented voices globally. With a focus on exploring cinematic realities, his work has earned numerous international awards, including Best Picture at Dances with Films and Audience Choice for Best Feature at Canadian Film Festival. Karl believes in the power of great images to broaden horizons and founded Blackout Media, an impact-driven production company, and Pocket Film School, online education to democratize access to the film industry.

Maya Bastian is an award winning director and writer. Her films have played in festivals around the world and have been supported by Netflix, the United Nations, CBC, Telefilm, and The Canadian Film Centre. Her most recent film, Tigress, was nominated for a CEC Award and participated at Cannes Court Metrage 2021. Her work frequently explores the trauma related to displacement and migration.

Jasper Chen is a writer who writes features and TV that push the limits of genre and storytelling, with experience in sci-fi, horror, rom-coms, drama, and everything in between. Having spent the first decade of his life in the States and the second decade in Taiwan, Jasper brings this bicultural perspective into universal narratives. Most recently, he has earned wins from Austin Film Festival and PAGE.
