The production lines never sleep.

In a metal tomb untouched by daylight, the blind machines of the Candy Factory eternally rumble and growl, mashing ingredients into colorful slurries, then spinning them into glossy, twisted treats.

Sticky delights destined for the welcoming lips of a ravenous public.

Nestled deep between the conveyor belts and hissing pipes that feed the guts of the factory, there lies a nexus of information. A tangled collection of glassy screens blinking and flickering without end, drawing the watcher’s attention towards anything that might seem out of place. Everything under control.

At the helm of the twitching nerve center the Supervisor rules with a piercing gaze. Her grey knuckles grip tight on the controls, searching for any waste to ruthlessly cut from the factory’s expenditures.

Today, the screens notify her of an irregularity. Two little children, who are certainly intending to eat up her precious profits with inefficiencies. The joints in her wrists – all six of them – crack in annoyance as she turns the cameras to follow her prey.

This will not do.

Down in the spaces below the rumbling engines of sweets and the dangling feet of the workers, Low and Alone might not feel the Supervisor’s electronic eyes upon them yet. However, it won’t be long before they find themselves under a particularly intense corporate review.

Will they be able to pick their way through this endless mechanical maze before they wind up on the wrong side of the balance sheet?

There’s still so far to go.
